What Innovation Can Do For Your Life
What Innovation Can Do For Your Life
The power of innovation is a talent that everyone has, yet they don’t they do. If you’ve ever marveled at somebody’s creative prowess and thought to yourself, “I wish I could be like that.” Guess what, you can create and innovate too! It just takes time. Everyone is born creative. The boxes of crayons in kindergarten were not limited to those who possessed potential. The truth is everybody has potential; it just needs to be nourished.
You know how long it took to learn to ride a bike or drive or to never commit the same mistake again? It’s the same with innovation. It takes a bit of practice and a lot of time before this mind function comes easily when called. This article will teach you a few tips on how to bring innovation into your life.
Don’t listen to what other people say. Follow the beat of your own drum. Jim Rohn says “Be unique!” Always allow for the input of other people, but don’t allow it to bring disharmony to the masterpiece you are trying to create. If you have an original idea, don’t waste your time and effort trying to make people understand. Usually they won’t get it and the help you get will probably come in the form of negative feedback. If all those past geniuses listened to their peers, we would probably still be living in the middle ages.
Spend time on it. I can’t stress this enough, although, please don’t mistake this as me telling you to quit your day job. Don’t! This involves some time management, but with a little discipline you’ll be able to squeeze both in.
Exercise; take a walk, run a mile or two. Send all those endorphins coursing through your veins. Exercising certainly clears and relaxes your mind and allows for the creative juices to flow.
Record your dreams. Keep a notepad next to your bed on the nightstand. When you wake up, write down everything you remember from your dreams right away before you forget them! Aren’t some of them just the craziest things that your conscious mind would never have thought of? If you’ve had these dreams before, and I’m sure have, this only shows you the untapped innovative power you have lying within. So jot down those notes. Those dreams may just create an innovative spark in you.
Find your own style. You can always tell a Van Gogh from a Matisse. You’ll know Hemingway wrote something by the choice of words on the paper. It’s the same with all of us. People will appreciate your innovativeness more because it is uniquely yours and no one else would have thought what you were thinking. That will let people see what a valuable asset you are.
Don’t hide behind nifty gadgets or tools. You don’t need the most expensive set of paints to produce a masterpiece. The same way with writing. You don’t need some expensive fountain pen and really smooth paper for a bestseller. In fact, J.K. Rowling wrote the first book of the Harry Potter Series on bits of tissue. So what if you’ve got an expensive SLR camera if you’re a crappy photographer? Who cares if you’ve got a kick-butt laptop if you can’t use it to its full potential? The experienced artist actually reduces the number of tools he has as he gets better at his craft: he knows what works and what doesn’t.
Nothing will work without passion. What wakes you up in the mornings? What keeps the flame burning? What is the one thing that you’ll die if you don’t do? Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by the people who want it more. Ellen Degeneres once said that if you’re not doing something that you want to do, then you don’t really want to do it. And that’s true. Sometimes you just want something so bad you become virtually unstoppable. And that is passion. Passion will keep you going, no matter what. You just have to want it bad enough. Find your true passion and see how innovative you become trying to reach your goal!
Don’t worry about inspiration. You can’t force it. Inspiration hits when you least expect it. You need to be prepared for those unpredictable, yet inevitable moments. An idea could strike you on the subway, yet alas, you poor unfortunate soul; you have no sheet of paper to scribble down a thought that could quite possibly change the world! Avoid these disasters; have a pen and paper within your arm’s reach at all times.
I hope this article has helped you realize the innovative potential in your life. Keep in mind that you’re doing these things for your own satisfaction and nobody else’s. But soon, others will begin to take notice, and everything will snowball from there. Just don’t ever quit and don’t ever, EVER let anybody steal your dreams!

Shutter Speed Basics
Shutter Speed Basics
I’m going to start you off with some good, solid tips about shutter speed, aperture, exposure, how blur can work well (not the accidental type!) and what camera you can use to get goods results in your digital photography.
Shutter speed is one of the first things in digital photography that you must know if you want to excel your skills and get beautiful digital photos. Your shutter speed controls the amount of light coming in to the digital sensor. The speed at with you get your light exposure can really make or break your digital photography.
In basic terms, to help you understand, shutter speed controls light exposure. Think of it like a door opening and closing fast or slow. How fast or slow it opens and shuts has impact on your light exposure onto the digital sensor. The shutter controls the amount of light coming in to the camera via its speed. The shutter can then make your pictures brighter or darker. Shutter speed can also impact the clarity of a moving object for example. You can create shutter speeds that are fast, giving a ‘suspended in mid air’ kind of look. Think of the motion of a fast moving object that’s been suspended in “mid-air” such as a water droplet for example. Shots like this have a fast shutter speed.
So what sort of shutter speeds do you need for a look like this? A good “freeze motion” shot where something looks suspended in time, may be at a shutter speed of 1/2000 just as an example. That means the shutter has opened and closed so fast that you can’t replicate it in sound or description. The shutter has clicked in 2000th of a second. That’s how a lot of sports photography is done. Many subjects that move very fast can look really good with a fast shutter speed.
Shutter speeds of babies and kids for example have to be taken pretty fast….unless they’re asleep of course. You need a pretty high shutter speed of babies and kids because in photographic terms they move around so fast! I’ve never been more tired after a day of shooting photos of kids and babies. You have to be on your toes because a potentially great photo is gone in an instant of a second, so you have to watch them like a hawk.
On the other hand you can get blurry images using shutter speed effects manipulation. Shutter speeds and artistic blur can work quite nicely together. For example if you want to create that artistic blurred look, (not the accidental smudge look) then some gentle blur in your photos can look beautiful. This involves some adjusting of the shutter speed to get the right look for your shot. I would call it a smudging effect if you want to get technical. You may take the same photo of the kids running, but set the shutter speed exposure to something around the 1/250 or less for example. This range of f stops may create a really nice, soft blur with these shutter speed effects.
Aperture on the other hand is described as F stops. The higher the number f stop, the smaller the opening of the lens and the less light falls on the image. For example, you may find that a dusk sunset shot is rather beautiful and you want to capture the colours as you see them. You may decide to manually change the aperture, or f stop, and open up the lens and let more light in. You may find that on auto your camera has chosen an f stop of F8. You look at the scene on the viewfinder and you find it’s just a little dark for your liking. You then switch the camera to a manual mode and change it to F4, which you find lets more light in and gives you the shot you want. Remember, the higher the F stop number, the less light comes in. The lower the number, the more light comes in.
Shutter speed and aperture in your digital photography must work together closely to create the right blend of effect in your photo. So just try it. Play around with moving objects on different shutter speeds and you’ll see what I mean about the different types of effects you can get.
So what digital cameras can you have complete shutter speed and aperture control over?
Digital Slr’s are by far better as far as controlling the amount of light that comes onto your sensor. It’s a little hard to get this control with an ordinary point-and shoot- digital camera because you can’t control the shutter speed or aperture independently. On a pro-sumer camera it’s bit better because you can change the exposure value, but still, you can’t change the shutter speed alone.
Although on a pro-sumer, you may have a reading called “e/v” which stands for “exposure value”. An “e/v number” is really a measurement of the cameras combination between aperture and shutter speed. I don’t have time to go into great explanation now but if you can change the exposure value or “e/v” you have a little more scope than the point and shoot digital camera. You can still experiment pretty well if you have one of these digital cameras. However a single lens reflex digital camera is the ideal. It allows you to control the shutter speed alone, independently, without affecting the adjustment of the aperture.
To summarise, you can get beautifully artistic shots by having a sense of what works intuitively, then couple that with a good sense of photographic technical knowledge and you are well on your way! So start with trying out different shutter speeds first and then move on to aperture, then try both.
Happy shooting!

Data Back Up Critical
You should know this by now: Computers can and do fail. And nasty viruses can take down your system by creeping through your antivirus software and firewall.
The problem is that you usually get no warning before it’s too late. Puff! Your data is gone.
This has happened to more than a few businesspeople. In extreme cases, it has put companies out of business. And the worst part is this: It’s completely avoidable. By backing up your data, you can retrieve all or most of what you lose.
Yes, yes, I hear some of you snickering about the hassle involved. Indeed, there is a hassle involved. But you owe it to yourself — and your business — to take stock of your backup plan (or lack thereof) by reviewing these tips. Most Important: Back up Your Customer Databases and Payroll Records
What’s the heart and soul of your company? People have different opinions, but certainly your customer or client database has to rank high.
Inside one or two data files are all the nitty-gritty details including what they buy, when they buy, how they pay and so forth. Contact lists also are databases, and you might have yours combined with your customer list.
So, where would you be if you lost your database? How would you feel if you attempted to open your database and it wasn’t there? Not good, I’ll bet. So you should be backing up your database.
Also mission-critical for backups are your employee payroll records. You don’t want to lose the information that you have to report to the Internal Revenue Service. Your employees don’t want problems with the IRS, either. And they certainly don’t want to be paid late.
Here are a few options for backing up your data in the form of a hard copy:
* AIT Tape
* CD-R, CD-RW
* DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD+R
* Flash Memory Card Products
* R/W Magneto Optical Disks & WORM
* 1/2″ Tape Cartridges
* LTO Ultrium Tape
* QIC 1/4″ Data Cartridge
* Jaz & Zip Disks
* DLT tape / SDLT Tape
* SLR / MLR Cartridges
For anyone who uses a computer on a regular basis, data backup is very important. When you backup your data, you are storing your files on a disk or drive separated from your primary computer. In this way, if anything occurs to your computer or damage comes to your file on the computer, then you still have your data in backup so that you can restore it onto your original machine or another machine. This allows you to keep your data even if great damage comes to your computer. No one wants to have their system crash and then discover that all of their data is gone because they made no backups.
There are many methods for backing up your data. All that is required is to store your information on a drive or disk separate from your primary computer. If you operate on a home LAN system, for example, you can transfer your files to the other computers on your network and in this way ensure that even if one computer fails you will still have your files on another computer. There are also online backup systems where you can store your data on an online server.

Digital Camera Buying Guide
Digital Camera Buying Guide
Planning to buy a digital camera? Not sure how to get started?
Market is flooded with digital cameras from various brands. They too vary in sizes, in features and in specifications. It is obvious to get confused which one is better in this festive season for your family. Here follows the article that tries to impart some of the useful digital camera buying tips:
What do you need the camera for?
If you are looking for a simple one that can be used at home, you won’t get interesting features that you may need for taking really good photographic pictures that normally professional photographers look for. Otherwise it would be a waste of money if you have the digital camera with latest features only to be used for personal photography. Digital cameras available in the market are of three basic types:
Point and Shoot, Lifestyle and Professional. Based on the purpose one can choose from the following main three types:
•Point and Shoot: – reasonably compact, with common features and size like 35mm digital cameras.
•Lifestyle: – with moderate features, it’s sleek and compact, so you can carry it around with utter ease.
•Professional: – with interchangeable lenses, flashes and other accessories, this type of digital cameras is robust and feature laden, just the best choice for a professional or serious photographer.
Features you must look for Resolution
Digital images are made up of dots (.) called as pixels. The higher the number of pixels in your captured image, the better will be the quality of the image. This will therefore help you enlarging your image to higher pixel dimensions without creating a pixilated (broken) image, which we normally called as blurred image.
Compression
Compression shrinks a photo’s file size so that more images can be stored in the memory card. If you need the absolute best quality images, you have to consider buying a digital camera that takes uncompressed photos but will accommodate less number of images.
Memory
A digital camera’s memory size will determine the number of images that can be stored. Memory of 128MB will be good enough if you want to use the camera for personal purposes. If you are on a vacation or when you cannot download images for longer days, a memory of 512MB to 1GB the best option.
LCD Screen
Most digital cameras come with at least an optical viewfinder but many digital cameras also come with an LCD screen built into the back. The display panel varies from 1.5″ – 2.5″ from camera to camera.
Lens
It is the length of a digital camera’s lens that determines how much of a sight will fit in a picture. A “Normal” lens is about 50mm, most closely approximate to what your eye sees.
Optical Zoom
This enables a photographer to zoom in on an object without lowering quality of pictures. Depending on the magnification number, you can zoom in more up to its specified limitation.
Digital Zoom
This feature enables the photographer to zoom in on the centre of the picture by removing the edges of the image. Doesn’t this feature make a digital camera cool.
Focus an Exposure
In most digital cameras, the correct exposure for the lighting conditions is automatically determined. A camera rated ISO 100, has approximately the same light sensitivity as that of a traditional film camera loaded with ISO 100 film. A higher ISO rating means that the camera is more sensitive to light and is potential enough to take pictures in darker settings.
Audio and Movie Capture
This feature allows you to record sounds and moving images at the same time, in exactly the same way that a camcorder works. Some digital cameras offer the facility to record a few seconds of audio with each shot, thus letting you add a personal sound bite to your photos.
Movie Mode
This is a feature that lets you take short film clips with your digital camera. The total record length is typically limited to 10 to 90 seconds.
Flash
Most digital cameras come with an in-built flash. Some cameras however include additional features, such as red-eye reduction or night portrait mode.
Image Erase
Most cameras also let you select pictures to erase. This handy feature gives you the chance to edit out the photos you don’t want in order to save more space in the memory for more snaps.
Self-Timer
A self-timer allows a digital camera for a delayed exposure, usually giving you about 10 seconds before the picture is taken. So no problem if you don’t find anybody to take your photos. You can set your digital camera on self-timer and go back to your position to take a perfect photo of yours.
Computer Connections
Most high-end digital cameras have software and connections for all Mac, PC computers and laptops. However it is necessary to make sure the digital camera you want is compatible with your platform before you go for a buy.
Image Stabilization
This feature enables the photographer to capture still images of something moving very fast. This feature is a must for all professional photographers, especially sports photographers.
Printing
Now-a-days, you can buy special printers, depending on the compatibility of your camera, to print off your pictures without connecting it to a PC. This applies both for digital and SLR Professional cameras.
The Significance of Digital Camera Size and Portability
Size is another very important factor to be taken care of. If you are to use the camera for non-professional purposes the size has to be small as you cannot afford to carry huge sized cameras when you are enjoying a vacation. And there is kind of security problem as there may be a chance of theft.
Budget – The “Cannot Be Ignored Option”
Based on the budget the features will vary and the overall offering of a digital camera. Today’s digital cameras run anywhere from Rs 800 to Rs 30,000, depending on resolution and feature specifications. While the initial expense of a digital camera is still high you may find that the added convenience and savings in film and processing costs are worth it.

Make Money At Home With Photography And Photoshop
Make Money At Home With Photography And Photoshop./strong>
We are currently in an economic depression. Many people are being laid off and losing their jobs and their income. It is very difficult for most people to continue to pay the bills and the mortgage when this happens. Having a part time hobby with which you can make a part time or even full time income if necessary, can be the difference between making ends meet or filing for bankruptcy.
You can make a good income with wedding photography. It can be a very lucrative part time of full time option. In the United State alone, wedding photography is approximately a Billion per year industry. That’s a sizable market. And with some know how and a decent digital camera, you can be a part of this industry. I have designed a course that includes everything you need, including business forms, technical discussions, sample ads and business cards, and even tips on using Adobe Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop.Lightroom and Apple’s Aperture. You can see more information and order at my blog or website.
Using Adobe Photoshop will be essential to making a good income with photography as many of the photos you take will require some kind of manipulation, even if it is just a small brightness or contrast adjustment. However, if you can master some of the trickier tools, you will be able to create some stunning photos. You will also be able to contract to other studios for work. Mastering Photoshop is still something that not everyone can do. But id you enjoy creating images on the computer, then you can could be in great demand by others looking for help.
On my blog, you will see images of a cabin in the snow country of Arizona. The client wanted an image that they could frame and put on the wall. They were very proud of their cabin, but to make a really good image required some extensive Photoshop work. The main tool I used was the Clone tool. I think that the Clone tool and the Pen tool are the two most powerful tools in Photoshop. If you master these tools, you will be able to create some really great images.
As you will see, by astute use of the Clone tool, the overhead power lines were eliminated, so we have a nice clear view of the beautiful blue sky. Next, we smoothes out the snow covered road, and deleted the car by Cloning the snow over the car. Next, the sidewalk was smoothed out and the footprints were removed. Then, some Cloning of the snow on the roof to make the roof line look better. Finally, judicious use of the curves and a selection on the cabin itself, brought the warmth and texture of the wood walls to life. These kinds of techniques will enable you to earn money, even in a down economy. Just be sure to practice as often as you can.
One of the first questions I am asked when shooting with a digital camera (after the “which camera do you use, question), is, what format should I shoot? Tiff, High Res. JPEG, RAW etc. And the answer is very simple. RAW! There is NO other option. And you need to make sure that you are using the highest resolution (mega pixels) available on your camera.
You should only be using a digital SLR (DSLR) camera, with the most powerful (expensive) flash you can afford, available for your system. When you shoot a wedding, you will need to use flash for basically every shot you take. Indoors and out, even in bright sunlight. The flash will light dark subjects inside and when you are outside, it will fill in the shadows of your subject, and make the resulting photos look their best.
A very important point to remember when you photograph the bride, is to make sure that there is lots of detail in the brides dress. With digital cameras, the sensor cannot record as wide a range of light to dark as with traditional film cameras, and whites in particular, can be very challenging to record with detail. This is where you need to be able to balance the flash with the available light to get acceptable results. Otherwise, you may have some angry people calling you after the event. And you cannot arrange a do-over for a wedding, it is a one shot deal. So, make sure you do lots of practice before your first real, paying event. A good way to practice is to have you wife/girlfriend/kids dress up in white clothes and take lots of shots and note the settings you need to get detail in the dress, and good even skin tones on the brides face.
Photos of kids at the wedding can help make you a lot of extra money. Whenever possible, set up the kids in the bridal party by themselves. These kinds of photos will sell to the parents, the bride and groom and many other family members, especially the grandparents. Part of your job is to not just take good photos, but to take photos that will sell and keep you in a job and allow you to buy more equipment as you need it. You should always take individual shots of each kid and have the parents help to get them comfortable so you can get some good shots. Always try to choose an interesting background where possible. In order to focus attention on the kids (refer to the photo on my blog, listed at the end of this article) and not the background, I have made a selection around the kids in Adobe Photoshop, and darkened the background a little, so the kids will stand out and be the center of attention in the photo.

How to Make the Most of Sports Photography
How to Make the Most of Sports Photography
Usually, professional sport photographers use highly sophisticated equipment including digital SLR cameras with very long lenses to catch the action up close. In order to get best sports photography shots, they often use different camera angles. Even if you don’t have top equipment or know all the techniques of commercial advertising sport photography, there is no reason to get discouraged.
You can still take awesome pictures of the sport you like, be it basketball, triathlon, National Basketball League or body building. Learning the skills and techniques of professional athlete photography makes it possible for you to get some fantastic shots.
Here are some basic concepts of sports photography that can help you make the most of your camera.
Know the sport
this is the first step of taking good shots. Once you have a general idea about the sport, try to know as much as you can about the players, place and other aspects of the game. Commercial athlete photography requires knowledge of all these factors before you can know where to focus the camera and how quickly. Shooting a bodybuilding event is much more relaxed than shooting a basketball game. Know the lighting
if you’re learning commercial advertising athlete photography, it is important to know the lighting. If you’re shooting outdoors, close the aperture down and use a high shutter speed to capture the action. On the other hand, the lighting is not so good in case of indoor games. This will tend to distort colors and show more shadows on faces. While learning sports photography for indoor professional sports, open the aperture so that the filed turns shallower. As a result, you will be able to make the subject stand out against the background and take clearer pictures. Speed of action
Sports like basketball are very fast paced. For commercial advertising sport photography, you will need a lens that is focused on the action at all times. The idea is to take lots of pictures and not worry about the focal length too much. Check whether your camera batteries are fresh and exchange them during breaks in the game. Using the Flash
You may think that sports photography is the best field for using a flash but this notion may not always prove to be right. A lot of times, flashes distract the professional athletes. While learning commercial advertising athlete photography, set your camera to a 1600 or 3200 ISO and the aperture to 2.8 or 3.2.
Following these tips is imperative for aspirants of sports photography. In fact, the most important thing is to practice shooting commercial athlete photography. It takes many blurry or badly composed shots before you can get a good professional sport picture. No matter how much time or effort it takes, professional athlete shots can make or break the memories of the game in people’s minds.
Nowadays, many photographers use photo editing software for improving the clarity and composition of sports photography shots. If you are unhappy with any of the pictures you have taken, try using such software to make the most of them. Still, an originally well shot picture has far more impact that lasts for a long time.

Top Five Important Photo Accessories
Top Five Important Photo Accessories
There is a lot of photography accessories on the market today – some are very useful, but most of them are a waste of money. Here are five of the most important accessories for landscape photography
Tripod: A tripod is important for one main reason, keeping your images sharp. You’ll want to select a small aperture to maximise depth-of-field, so you should be using a shutter speed of less than 1/60 second. It’s impossible to get a sharp image holding your camera in your hand at these slow speeds.
When choosing a tripod pick one made out of carbon fibres, these are light to carry but are sturdy in the ground. Choose a tripod that the legs will spread out far, this will help to optimise the strength of your support.
Filters: A small selection of filters is well worth packing when heading off for a trip. They don’t take up too much space and will definitely add a bit of spice to your images. A polarizing filter should be top of the list, while a few Neutral Density filters will certainly help with tough exposures. A 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9 will help with exposure without affecting colour.
Bring a few warm-up filters to help when the light is cool. The 81-series are the best choice, which will give your images an extra bit of life. There’s a large amount of filters on the market today; these are the most important filters for landscape photography.
Correct Film: Fuji Velvia is an obvious choice for me when it comes to shooting landscapes. This is a slide film that is high in saturation and is perfect for capturing the colour of all seasons. It comes in two speeds of ISO 50 and ISO 100.
It’s always handy to have a few rolls of Black and White film in the bag. You never know when you see a scene and know that it’s perfect for B/W. Whichever film you choose, bring plenty of rolls; don’t be caught in the middle of nowhere without film.
If you are shooting with a Digital SLR bring plenty of memory.
Cable Release: If your camera has a connection for a cable release you should buy one. It is a perfect accessory to minimise the risk of camera shake – especially if you are taking long exposures. It doesn’t take up too much room and is extremely light.
Light Meter: All modern day cameras have light meters built into them, but if you are serious about landscape photography it’s advisable to have a hand-held light meter. These are small and of light-weight, and when used correctly are extremely accurate.
These are the most important bits and pieces for your camera bag; other important accessories include spare batteries, a grey card and a few spare lenses.
